Default fuel pump for 5.3 Silverado

hey guys a little off base from the normal but hey the architecture is basically the same in all the motors. i have a 2000 1500 silverado Z71 and im gonna be doing the fuel pump soon. i looked on GM parts direct and they list the pump for 500 dollars thats rediculous so im thinking of going aftermarket since im gonna be rebuilding, caming etc in a couple months anyways. anyone put a better fuel pump in there Chevy pickup? im looking for a direct fit any help would be awesome

As far as I know, there is not a direct fit replacement pump for your vehicle.

Most 255 style pumps will require cutting the fuel bucket & disabling the venturi function.
