Default do i need to replace my fuel pump?

heres what my cars doing. its 96 lt1 6spd. when i try to start it, it will turn over for 15 seconds and finally start. and some times it will start and deisel for a sec or 2.then when i jump down on it will lightly miss at high rpm some times any sugestions.

Put a gauge on it and see what it is doing, pressure-wise. The fitting is at the back, next to the FPR.

Since your sig does not show what you have (hint), I will hazard a guess that it is the 96 in your handle. In that case, you should idle around 38-40 p.s.i. If you unplug the vacuum line going to the FPR (it goes into the intake manifold on the passenger's side) it should jump to about 43.5 p.s.i., give or take a couple due to manufacturing tolerances.
