I have the nasty sumped tank on my 95....... with longer bolts for the straps it fit like a charm.... I friggin love it....

Although I wish i would have gone with a bigger pump instead of the 600A weldon.... oh well... But the tank is the shiet.....

And nate at nasty performance is a great guy to deal with.... A+++++ Rating from me...

One question about these tanks ... the one I worked with was shaped kinda funny. The top wasn't flat but have a sharp V-shape in the middle that seemed to not serve any purpose ... ?

You sure that wasn't the bottom.... it's for rearend clearance if it's the bottom...... i could have sworn the top was flat at least on mine it was. I have a pic of it out of the car somewhere....

No it was the top ... the bottom was clearenced for the axle and the fuel filler was on the correct side and everything ... just weird 'cos it seems to serve no purpose ... you can see it right here http://www.nastyperformance.com/FuelSystem.html ... http://www.nastyperformance.com/93-97F-Body.html unless they sent the wrong tank when we ordered it for a F-body (it looks like tank they have listed for the mustang) ... ?

i'm thinking the way it fits up in there it requires that V taper???? to clear the floorpan????

I think the floorpan tapers up which wouild explain why it's shaped like that. The stock tank is more rounded at the top... either way they fit so i didn't care if it was shaped like an eggplant... LOL

LOL ... the area up top where it sits against is "flat" and is the area we cut when replacing the fuel pump the lazy way. Everything else is shaped great, just the V shape baffles me ... maybe Nasty N8 will chime in, there's gotta be a reason!!!

It is shaped like the stock tanks to allow room for wire harness and hose to clear. The original design used the stock fuel bucket for the sender...ALONG time ago. It fits so we just kept it rather than try and make changes that may not work. Sorry it is not a Mustang tank it would never fit in an Fbody.

Ahhh ... you just don't have the stock fuel pump/etc. up there anymore ... gotcha!

Why would you use an internal pump in a sumped tank?

Exactly no it won't no need to switch from your factory tank for internal pumps we have duals that will make more than 1000rwhp with complete factory style setup. If you need big power or race style setup thats what the tank is for. Any external pump you run can make the power needed.
