If you are going to go through the hassle, you should just install a new full module assembly instead of messing around with swapping in a pump with 50k on it. But if you must, a fuel pump that pumps more than you need has nothing to do with tuning, your pressure regulator will handle it, any unused fuel just goes back into the tank.
