Fuel Pump/Sending unit help

Fuel Pump/Sending unit help Hey guys, my fuel gauge needle has been acting funny for the past month, it goes down when im going down a hill and goes way higher when im going up a hill and when i park it, it levels out. I am guessing this is due to a faulty fuel sending unit? im no 100% sure. What do you guys think? & should i replace them? if so, can you guys tell me how i should go about doing it? thanks so much. btw i have a 1999 pontiac firebird v6 3.8l

May just be the sending unit contacts are dirty. At your GM dealer they have a cleaner that you can try before you remove the module and replace the sending unit. They call it Fuel System Treatment Plus. It will actually clean the contacts and may save you having to drop the tank...
