Default Fuel pressure regulator not increasing pressure in boost?

My Aeromotive 13109 regulator does not seem to be raising fuel pressure in boost in a 1:1 ratio as advertised. With base fuel pressure set to 58psi, the fuel pressure at 10psi of boost is around 60psi. It seems to be doing just fine in vacuum though. I'm measuring the pressure at the fuel rail, the regulator is in the return line.

I have a Walbro 400 pump hot wired, so I don't believe it's a pump issue. Any thoughts?

Cap off the return on the regulator. KOEO, fuel pressure should build to pump internal pop off.

Are you suggesting that a leak in the tank is preventing the fuel pressure from going above 60psi? I can crank down the regulator to give me base pressures up to 70+psi.

Can you explain this in a little more detail? What will this show?

just verifies fuel system integrity between pump and regulator, if you can adjust pressure, you might have a bad regulator.

I know you said it works in vacuum, but you sure you have a good vacuum source connected to the FPR

Ah I see what you're saying, let the pump build up pressure and it should increase up to the point where the pump bypass opens up to relieve the pressure. If it doesn't build up pressure or not enough pressure then there is a leak in the pump or pump assembly. Is this safe for the pump?

It's the same line I'm using for the meth injection controller and the boost gauge/controller (which is reading boost and vac correctly), meth injection is also working properly.
