Default 98 ls1 fbody with 62 psi of preassure at the rails what's the cause

Ok I checked the fuel pressure at the rail. When I key the ignition on it reads 50psi when I start the car it's hits 62psi and will stay steady at 62 at all RPMs. The car does not struggle to start or hunt for idle. Why would my fuel preassure be so high? It needs to be at 58psi right. Could this be causing my car to shift early and lack power

Mine has been at 60PSI since I have owned it. I know typically they are at 58, but I don't think the 62 is hurting you. I would imagine your fuel regulator is just a bit out of whack. You could always run an aftermarket requlator and set the PSI to 58 that way.
