fuel pump fuse blows intermittently

I have fuel pump fuse issues I hope someone can help me with....
2007 Corvette LS2 ,BP harness, Aeromotive stealth in tank pump the pump itsself is a Walbro I think its a GSS242, when I was running with the re-worked stock harness I ran the gray fuel pump wire to a relay in the trunk of the car, This worked fine for 3 years, but I melted some wires in the harness so I went with a BP standalone(beautiful work Bill by the way), any way, when I run his gray wire to my relay it intermittently blows the fuel pump fuse and its always after the 2 second fuel rail prime, if I connect the wire from my trunk relay to my fuse panel key on/start it works fine but in this case the pump runs continuously not a good thing. I actually have 2 questions is it ok to use a solid state relay (the one that came with the harness from BP) to trigger a conventional electro/mechanical relay, and does anyone know if the ECU removes power from the pump gray wire after the 2 second prime then reapply it after the engine starts? reason I ask is I put a volt meter on the BP gray pump wire and turned the key on it did not drop power after the 2 second prime. Well I found out one thing with nothing on the end of the fuel pump wire it throws a P0230 code, wonder how the heck the computer knows theres nothing connected? to be continued......

The computer provides power for just a couple of seconds to the fuel pump relay, and then constantly while running or cranking.

It knows its not connected to a relay, that's why it throws the code. There is no current draw.

but it is connected to the relay just not to the pump?

Yes, the fuel pump wire from the ECU goes to a relay. Nothing else.

fuel pump fuse

Fixed, the guys at BP Automotive crossed 2 wires in the fuse box, ground and the gray wire to the FP.
