Default Sunoco 110 or 112

I don't know if this is the right section for this topic, but heres the question anyway. Motor is a 416 with 13.8:1CR, how much octane do I need for full out drag racing? Going on the the dyno today for tuning and I want to use the right fuel for maximum power. Thanks in advance guys.

N/A configuration or poweradder?

I'd be willing to say just a standard 110 for a n/a application

20 years ago, people were building 8.0/1 CR for less boost than we can use now on 10.0/1 motors. You need to provide FAR more details to get anything approaching an intelligent answer to your question. Even then, 110 vs 112 is so close that nobody can give you a definitive answer without being your engine builder.

Thanks guys. I went with Sunoco 110 standard(purple). Perfect for NA! Made a whopping 604 rwhp @ 7300 on a Mustang Dyno!

Awesome numbers. The LSX's are much more efficient and have less octane requirements when compared to sbc/ltx's.

We used standard 110 in a friend of mines nitrous SBC, 13.5:1 (static) on a 150 hit and it wouldn't pick up any ET/MPH the more nitrous we threw at it. Swapped to a different fuel with more octane, and picked up a ton. It had ran out of octane.. luckily it didn't burn up the motor or hurt pistons.

That's why I had asked if it was a nitrous application

I may try and feed her some 112 when track testing. A small 150-200 shot is not out of the question in the near future for this baby.
