Default fuel sending unit?

my gas gauge is all over the placing, I'm assuming its in the tank seems like a common issue, my ? is can I just replace the fuel sending unit or do I have to buy the whole pump assembly? also what brand is I need the whole thing?

You might want to check any ground related to gauges. A bad ground can really make gauges go all over the place.

don't the gauges use ground for signal?

Whether they do or not, a good connection is still needed.

I'm pretty sure its n the tank, I will check the wiring later just need a answer if the whole pump has to be replaced that's all.
