Using Flex fuel sensor on returnless fuel system (05 GTO)
I have an 05 GTO that has twin turbos, 340 Pump and 80 LB injectors. I am trying to run a ethanol mix to around E60 or so and will be installing a GM flex fuel sensor this weekend. Will it be a bad idea to install the sensor on the feed Line entering the fuel rail? AEM recommends it on the return line but i do not want to re due my fuel system just yet. Seeing that it is a straight through design i cannot see it restricting anything. Anyone done this?

Can you see right thru it? ALSO, can it withstand 60psi fuel pressure? If the answer is YES to BOTH questions, it should not restrict fuel flow.

Fuel System Return
Hi Miles = NOT A CHANCE.
Sorry for my humor, just the TT's, HIGH HP with "returnless" ???
The problem is you "trap" AIR/HOT FUEL in the fuel system when you have NO TANK RETURN !
Please, take the time to install/use a tank return, then the Flex Fuel Sensor is easy and a proper item to fit.
FEED your engine correctly and it will treat you VERY well.

It seems the best way to use these sensors on the returnless setups is to plumb it in parallel with the feed line. Allows full flow in the feed line and the parallel branch allows the sensor to read without causing any restriction.
Seen this on a few CTSV's with flex conversions.
