Default AEM fuel pump vs Racetronix

'01 Camaro
Roughly 450 rwhp

So my car had a Racetronix pump with hotwire kit in it. Last fall, before I put it in storage for winter, it started running poorly. Tested the fuel pressure and it was only around 36psi. Pulled the tank and replaced the pump with a new AEM pump that the shop had on the shelf.

It takes several times of cycling the key to get the darn thing to fire where as with the racetronix pump was no issue starting. This spring I'm going to drop the tank again and replace the pump again. Do I buy another AEM or go back to Racetronix? I contacted AEM about this and, although their customer service was good, they wanted proof of purchase to warranty pump which was thrown away.

I have good psi when idling and pulls on the dyno, it just won't hold prime. Very annoying at gas station when you have to either cycle the key 3-4 times or crank the heck out of it before it fires....

Thoughts?

Thanks

Sounds like a faulty check-ball valve in the fuel pump. I've been through that annoying priming/starting issue.

Either the pump check valve, or it's possible the hose from the pump outlet is leaking - either perhaps it wasn't tightened enough or maybe has a small tear.

More likely an install problem than a faulty pump.
