Default gas delivery pressure to fuel rail

Hey Techsters.. Just now getting started on installing my 2002 stock 5.3 LS Yukon engine in a 1953 pickup so the gas delivery issue is my concern. What gas delivery pressure does this engine require since the engine was separated from the rest of vehicle. I'm expecting to procure a new gas tank to fit my project vehicle so I'll need to acquire the new fuel pump with a pressure regulator ? Anything else I need to consider ? Your thoughts ...

Check if your stock fuel rail has the FPR attached...

Two things to consider. 1) Type of fuel pump and regulator 2) Return style or return less style.
There is a video on youtube that explains this subject real good.

ALL fuel injection systems on LS engines are return style, even if the regulator/return is in the fuel tank. The pressure at the rail should be 58psi on any OEM system, I think that is what the OP asked for

I just unplug the vacuum line to the regulator, the pressure went up to about 52 psi, will check the filter next then drop the tank
Which type of injectors do you have? There is an 8 digit part# on side of each injector. What is the number. Different fuel pressure spec for FLEX FUEL engines.

5.3L Flex Fuel engine 2001-2004, 48-54 psi with vacuum line disconnected
5.3L Standard Fuel 1999 to 2003, 55 to 62 psi with vacuum line disconnected

This is from LS1tech post #18
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...e-driving.html

Flex fuel engines on some years run a lower psi.
