That’s what I think I’m going to try. I bought the intake with a throttle body bolted to it. When I removed the throttle body I found that someone shoved a nut in here. It wasn’t doing anything to pull the throttle body back against the intake. This seems to be common for people that overtighten these screws.

I hope it works! Best of luck to you!

I had that happen to my old Fast 90. Actually out of the box the intake did not have those inserts, just utilized a bolt, washers and nut on the backside. When I had Tony Mamo port it, he put those in presumably as an upgrade. Well I was well under torque spec when tightening the TB bolts and 2 of the 4 cracked at the flange, although the inserts never fell out. I used epoxy to firm it up and bolted it back together extremely gently, fortunately it seemed to be enough to seal the TB. Held for 10 years, even with a nitrous outlet plate sandwiched between until I took it off this winter and got rid of the setup.

You need to buy one of these from McMaster Carr

Epoxy wont hold much torque

I believe this would be the part number that you need to purchase from them 90245A171

Good luck.....btw, once you tap it with the 10mm outer thread you screw in the insert and just bang those protruding tabs in with a hammer to lock the insert in place

Your welcome.....LOL
