Sumped my aluminium fuel cell.
So, The eliminator fuel pump recommends -12 feed line, and a sump. So.... I went ahead and sumped my tank.
My parts list.
After a bit of welding and cutting. I made the actual sump from my destroyed driveshaft.

I know a one foot drop won't work in most of the cars on here. However, for my pickup truck, where the cell is mounted in the bed, it works perfectly.
For the sad news, even after making multiple passes around each weld, there was still a pinhole leak in the top that I missed, even after having multiple sets of eyes inspect it.

I'm just glad someones welding is worse than mine !!!! lol
You could have made that a few inches shorter and tidied it up by doing an in-tank install dropping the pump down into the sump.
Doubt there's any need for such a tall well...but really no negatives to it if you have the room and it wont be susceptible to damage.
If there is a pinhole, rather than just passing over it again, grind it out with a carbide burr and then try re-welding. Or just cut the flange off and do a new one, clean thoroughly before welding.
