Default Won’t stay running with fuel

Got a 5.3 vortex motor or I guess gen 3 with tuned pcm. Running stand alone right now and when I start it it starts without fuel but dies when I give it fuel. Brand new regulator/filter for a vette

It should maintain 58psi at the fuel rail when running and when it shuts off it should hold that pressure for awhile and if it falls off suddenly you have an issue.

Did your fuel injectors sit for a long time prior to this with old fuel in them?

yes the did, but when I pulled them off of the rail before assembling the motor the fuel didn’t have that distinct old smell

Fuel can still degrade without smelling bad. Still might want to flush some fresh fuel through the lines.

flushed it and it’s ran several times since then. My issue is it running then during as soon at I turn on the fuel pump. Could my injectors be suck open? If it helps I spliced in EV1 plugs and cut out the truck plugs to run ls injectors. I did red to pink. Pink is the positive on these truck correct? The other color is a random color with a black stripe so negative.

50 psi at my rail. Bad regulator I’m guessing because the pump is brand new. But if it’s at 50 psi then why is my motor acting like it’s flooding?

I’ve got 13 give or take going to my injectors (it’s on a charger) and without power hooked up of course, I’m at roughly 12 ohms in my injectors.

spun it with the rail off and an injector plugged in seems like it’s firing with a satisfying spray

Found a missing coil ground on drivers side and completely neglected to clean off the ground on the passenger side after painting. About to hook everything back up and give it a shot

I remembered that I’m doing a test run on a stand before I drop it in and I bolted the corvette regulator to the back of the drivers head for a ground and to have it close to the fuel rails. Looked and saw the ground off of it. Mind blown haha
