Is it ported in FRONT of the throttle blade or to the REAR of it? IF it's ported to the rear it is manifold vacuum. If ported in front it is a measured (via MAF if used) fresh air source. |
That port gets connected to the left side valve cover. It matches the same port on the stock TB. It's pointed up like that to clear the throttle cable. |
Ok so that would normally have an in line PCV valve in it then? Which would also mean it should be manifold vac or after throttle blade? This is a new turbo build btw and I’d like to hook that port to a BOV. |
It is behind the throttle blade, manifold vacuum. As for a BOV, I have no idea; I've never built a turbo system. |
So I had to call Holley anout a Dominator sensor wiring question so I asked about this as well. He said it’s really neither! The way he explained it is it sort of blended or changes with throttle blade position. So you don’t get full manifold vacuum with blade closed and still get vacuum at wot (Venturi). Bottom line is it won’t work for either of my purposes. |
It's for PCV then. You don't want full manifold vacuum pulling fumes at idle, but more than that, no problem. |
Its for the passenger valve cover fresh air inlet. It needs to be blocked off if your boosted. U can spin the downward if your careful with it. I usually pull it out and tap the hole for a plug. Vent both valve covers to air if boosted or connect to a catch can etc. |
Ok thanks. I like the tap and plug idea. I know it won’t pull a huge amount of vacuum but I welded in a crankcase evac valve in the Dow pipe and I’m planning on running a line through a catch can and to the PS valve cover. I’ve got a vented filler on DS rear (swapped VC’s.) |
