Gas Gauge faulty?
Not sure if this is the right section or not.
I believe the '98 LS1's have a 15.5 gallon tank. When I get down to E or just barely above it and go to fill up - I can fit about 12.8-13.1 gallons in it. Is this normal? Shouldn't I be able to fit atleast 14 in if it's that close to E and sometimes right on it?

I think my gas gauge is faulty.
So, the '98 F-Bodies are suppose to have 15.5 gallon tanks. When my needle gets down to a hair above E, I can fit right about 12 gallons in the tank. Is this normal?
I just started noticing it because I've been trying to figure out my MPG.
[EDIT] Going off of my ~210 miles to that tank I just filled up off of, I get ~17.5 MPG in the city with 12 gallons. [/EDIT]

I usually fill ~12 gallons when I'm at 1/8 of a tank. On my car, the light comes on when there is about 3 gallons left. I usually average 17-18 MPG. If I keep my foot out of it, I can get over 20.
