Default race gas on stock injectors

found a gas station the the other night that sells "race gas"(110 octane), a couple of my friend put it in their cars, at 4.02/gallon i didnt even bother, later that night another friend of mine says its a good thing i didnt because with stock injectors at high RPMs you will go lean

i did a little search didnt find too much, so ill just come out and ask it, is it bad to run race gas on stock injectors?

i would think it would run richer since it burns slower and the car hasnt been tuned for it.

If you have stock injectors I'm assuming you probably don't have the mods that would require 110 octain. My car with a few bolt-ons(not running nitrous) gets knock retard on 91. If I mix in at about a 50/50 solution of 100 octain with my 91, it completly eliminates kr on stock timning and on +3* of timing. Also make sure the gas isnt leaded and that its CAT safe if you are still runing CATS. BTW I would kill for higher octain fuel at that price. Around here 91 is at about 3.15-3.30 depending on where you get it from, and the one station that has 100 octain I'm paying 5.99 a gal.

i dont think u'll see much of a gain w/ a bolt-on car but if you wanna try it id reccommend maybe 100-104oct. Just make sure its unleaded(which it should be froma gas station) or you can kiss ur o2s byby

That 110 is more than likly leaded. It will kill your O2s pretty quick. Also, there is absolutly no reason for you to need 110 or even 100 with a light bolt on car. I'm willing to bet you will run slower. I don't know who's fuel your talking about but, more than likly the specific gravity is higher than pump gas and that will make you rich across the board. With the stock plugs you'll probrably be loading up at idle too.

Also that's dirt cheap for 110, I'm not even sure that I would trust the fuel at that price. It's probrably loaded with alcohol.
