Default OEM return style fuel rails

I am told that the 1997-1998 Corvette has a return style fuel rail. I would like to retain my fuel rail covers, and don't think I can with the aftermarket style rails. I will be modifying my GTO to a return style system, and will use aftermarket rails only if I have to.

Lingenfelter tells me they use the OEM rails successfully in their TT kits easily topping 650 RWHP.

My question is, has anybody else done this successfully?

is the infamous #7 piston problem more of an airflow issue as speculated in another thread, or is the OEM fuel rail partially to blame? and would the return style OEM rail be better or worse with regard to the #7 issue??????

I will be running a procharged 408, with Dart 225's, LS6 intake, stock TB. while 60# injectors would suffice, I plan on 83's with a converter. Most likely will install a walbro pump in the OEM bucket, feeding into a Y block augmented by an in line pump (actually parallel).

input is appreciated

Robert56 in the nitrous forum used them, and a few others I do believe, he posted up before on how to swap over w/ PN's etc..

They will work but they start becoming your restriction at about that hp level. I have seen guys modify there rail covers to fit with our fuel rails. The #7 problem is a combination of things and the stock rails is one issue and will not be resolved with 98 rails.
