My car has been cutting off at high rpms usually at about 4500 to 5500 I dont know y it just started doing this out of the blue about 2 months ago, and i cant figure this out. Gas filter changed about a year ago, air filter is clean k&n, spark plugs prop. gapped and wires about 3 moths old, the idle doesn't seem to be ruf, but if i rev it in park or if im at wot in drive for some reason it dies out at high rpms you can hear backfiring as the car comes to a stop. Once the eng. dies it has no prob. starting or idleling. Please can any1 give me any feedback, it will be appreciated.

Oh yeah i also have these trouble codes coming up on the ses. p0300,
p0332< changed this one once and still gave me the same code again, p0430, and p0420

I am having the same problem. I lose all power above 5000 rpms. hell half the time the car won't break the tires loose in first. I was told to check the fuel filter first, just haven't had time.

Maybe the fuel filtler in the tank needs changed?

Sounds like a fuel pump/regulator issue to me.

I didn't see the oh yeah part. It looks as if you still have cats so maybe they are clogged.

I checked my fuel pressure and its at 60 psi when the car is at idle or even when i rev it high, but i am going to try changing my cats or removing them
