Default Injector Size for X3/Stock Heads

Hey, Im building a stock displacement ls1 with 241 heads. ls6 intake, vengeance x3 cam (226/228 .58X lift) with long tubes and offroad pipe. The calculator shows me needing only a 29lb injector for 450crank power. not even sure if my combo will make that much. Would I be ok with a set of 28lb CTS-V injectors? Found a good deal and the 36lb SVO ones seem like pure overkill for my application. What do you guys think?

You should be fine with stock 28#ers you will need to upgrade the fuel pump as well.

The 28# injectors will be fine. My stock ones were good to 450rwhp. No need to replace the fuel pump either.

They were, but you are the exception Bri

I usually see the 28lbers poop out about 405-420rwhp on an M6, 395-410 on a locked A4 .... but it's a crap shoot there too because the pump usually runs out of steam around the same time as the injectors.

yeh glad you got some bigger ones, 28.8#ers would have been maxing out for you...theres no since in upgrading the fuel pump on the stock injectors... just go ahead and do both or just do new injectors...those 28.8s don't last long

I agree. my buds vette with same cam and stock heads was maxxed with 28s. Gotta figure out how to tune this beast though building an ls1 is like a snowball rolling downhill.
