Regular 93 octane or race fuel for a Built LS7 shortblock
Ok, I am having an LS7 shortblock built up for my Gto and The shop wants to know if I want to run regular 93 octane or race fuel. They said it would the difference of 2 to 3 tenths off my e.t.
I obviously know the answer to this question if the car was a "trailered only" car, but considering I would like to drive this on the weekends and to local car meets what would I do for regular fill ups around town? Is there an additive I could buy in bulk to add to my basic 93 octane gas-station fill up?
any help appreciated ..

It depends on what octane rating you need and how much you drive on the street. If its less than 13:1 cr you can probobly get away with a mix of 1/2 110octane and 1/2 93octane. Otherwise you would have to run straight race gas which comes in 55gallon drums.
FWIW I do this too, but have to run straight race gas. I keep a 55gal drum of racegas at the house but I don't take my car on road trips or anything like that.
