Default Brass vs. Aluminum fuel fittings

Most FI fittings I've seen are aluminum, especially milled parts or AN fittings. Is there an advantage of aluminum over brass fittings?

The reason I'm asking is because I need to tee to another line. I could either pay $25 for an anodized aluminum tee, or $2.50 for a brass tee. $25 isn't much, but after buying 10 other fittings, it all adds up.

Brass will work fine & is actually more resistant to fuel additives (like alcohol) than aluminum. Just be sure it is a 37deg fitting, not a 45 deg one like many hydraulic fittings are.

Thanks! That's good to know. Interesting that most of the (F.I.) AN fittings are aluminum.
