gear ratio v tire size

gear ratio v tire size does anyone know the formula to calculate how the tire size affects the gear ratio, reason i am asking is because i want to run a taller tire than stock
stock i believe is 26", and i want to run a 28" tire, i am on stock gears (M6, 3.42) and am trying to decide what gear ratio to go with...

This should help you. Just plug in any and every gear/tire combo you are thinking about trying and see what meets your goals!

Go with a 3.73...that should put you around a 3.42 gear when you're on the 28" tires, I'm goning to be running a 27.6" tire with 4.11 which will put me around a 3.90 running gear. Hope this helps.

I have been trying to find the acctual ratio's for each gear in the M6 (anyone know?) to calculate which gear I want to run. I'm looking at ordering an M9 setup later this month. 2000 TA BTW.
