Bearings wearing into axle!?
When I had my gears installed 3k miles ago, I was told that I needed to replace my axle(s) because my axle bearing had begun to wear into the hardness coating of the axle. I understand that there is softer metal under that coating. Is this something I should take care of soon and get replacement axles? Any one have this happen before or know how to keep this from happening?

I've seen it a lot. You can get axles from summit for around $300 (moser or strange, I forgot)
You can also use a axle repair bearing/seal, this is a wide bearing that places the rollers outward so they ride on a different area of the axle.
BUT these DO NOT WORK WITH TORSEN DIFFERENTIALS.
The torsen diffs have wider side gears, when you put in a wider bearing it doesn't leave enough room to install the c-clip.
You can push it hard and get the clip in, but that ruins the seal.
