Default 8.0 in a 7.5 rear-end

I believe that you can retro-fit a 8.0 into a 7.5 carrier with different bearing sizes. Question is, is there any benefit to this? Do they make a 8.0 LSD?

They were put into Canyons, Colorados and Humer H3s. I answered my own question, there is no advantages.
