Ring gear spacer on a 2 series carrier?
I have 2.73's now, and I really want to upgrade them.
My ideal option is to find a used, faily low mileage 3.23 or 3.42 4-channel rear to swap in, but I've been having no luck so far.
Someone told me I could use a ring gear to adapt 3 series gears to my 2 series carrier.
I was wondering if going with a set of GM take out 3.42's on my 2 series w/the spacer is a viable option?
This isn't going to be a track car, it's a DD and I usually go pretty easy on it. It might see the track 3 or 4 times this year, but I doubt any more than that.
Only mods are a lid and FTRA. Other planned mods are a catback and gears, and then later on down the line maybe a 3000-3200 stall converter.
Assuming I could find someone I trust to set the gears up, would that option work?
Thanks!
