Loud wine from the rear end

Loud wine from the rear end just bought the car 2 days ago and what started out as a wine that you can only hear somtimes turned into a LOUD wine that is very annoying, its coming from the rear end does this mean its about to give?

The first thing I would do is to check the fluid level in the rear. It is common for the pinion seal on the 10 bolt to leak, and I have seen these rears run completely dry. Bob
