Only Motive Gear makes a 3.90 for a 7.5" ten bolt. I had them, was pretty happy with them. Took me an entire year to destroy them, unlike other gears that I was breaking every couple weeks. Have an S60 in now, no more breakage for me

No, they actually didn't make any more noise than my 4.10s until I cracked every tooth on the pinion gear. Set up correctly, there won't be a problem.

You can get the gear by an aftermarket manufacturer, but won't be able to find a "factory" GM 3.90 gear..

I swapped to a 3.73 in my 10 bolt and a year later I couldn't stand the whine of the horrid 10 bolt anymore and bought a 9".. I'd advise you to save the money on your gear and rebuild kit and put it towards a more durable rear end..
