Default LT1 10-bolt in a LS1 car

I've been wanting to put 4.10 in my car (2002 TA m6-4 channel) soon and tonight my buddy calls me up and we get to talking. He's converting his car (1995 TA m6-3 channel) to auto-gutted street/drag car and wants a 3.42 rear. He had his rear completely rebuilt about a year and a half ago with 4.10. I did some searching and looks like it will work as long as we keep our axles, brakes and backing plates and he's getting rid of ABS. I just want to make sure that this will work before we pull both cars apart. We should be able to remove the c-clips and pull the axles out and not have to remove bearings right? Any pointers would be great as well. Thanks in advance.

Yes you need your axles, backing plate, brakes, and plug the hole in the top of his housing. This will help
