Default relocating rear bumpstops?

anyone ever tried this?

running 11" rims in the back, i've cut the bump stops to allow axle droop.

the BS are getting old now...wondering if there is a better way.

is it possible to cut the mounting bracket off the inner fender, then fabricate a new bracket.

was thinking you could reverse it...weld a bracket and BS on the axle facing up. and put a reinforced contact patch on the frame.

thoughts??

I know on fox bodies they have axle and center chunk bumpstops. If you decide to relocate the axle stops you can always add in a stop for the center to help with overall strength.

i ran zr1 17x11 on my lt1 without having to touch anything out back and it was fine. wheels were fine werent sticking out at all or hitting anything.

if u really want to replace them or modify them stop and just get the slp jounce bumpers. they replace the factory bump stops. i think they ar elike 20 bucks or something. they are like half the size of the bulgy factory ones.

only reason i modified them in the first place was in case i needed to raise the rear frame.

the stock bump stops would hit the inside of the rim/tire.

now the old stock bumpstops are pretty worn out...and since i just put in lowering springs i'm thinking it would be smart to upgrade somehow.

i'll look into the SLP units....any links??

all i can find on SLP's site is the spacers...
