How stiff should a 12 bolt be? I have a strange 12 bolt and I noticed with it up on jack stands that you can't spin the tires freely. I pulled the brakes off and unhooked the drive shaft. The rear end is really stiff. I would think with everything off of it the things would spin freely. It takes both hands to turn it a little at a time. Does anyone know what kind of pre-load I should have on this thing. Or how hard is yours to spin.

As long as you have those off (and the wheels too) , the total preload on the 10 bolt is like 35 in/lbs for a new build (that's without the axles). I would pull the axles and check that it is around there or less to be sure.
