Default What Gears do I have

It's dark outside and I'm too lazy to go look...I have a 98z A4. From what I've been told I have 2.73s in the rear. Any input and do you guys know what series that would be? I read that if it's under 3.08 then its a series 2. With that being said would series 3 set work?

if you have 2.73's then you need gears for a 2-series carrier so the answer to your question would be no 3-series gears would not work. but if you check on your door for the "gu" code you can figure out exactley what gears you have i cant remember off hand what the code for 2.73's are or the code for 3.23 wich is the other a4 gear.

If you have a 3.08 or numerically lower ratio then that is considered a 2 series carrier case. You can get 3 series gears to fit the 2 series case. This is referred to as a thick ring and pinion. They are available in a 3.42, 3.73 and a 4.11 ratio. You can check out our website or give us a call for price and availability.
