Newbie to rearends, need advise
I am pretty new to rear ends. I'm building my 00 t/a right now, should dyno somewhere around 450whp(maybe a little less). I have 80k miles on the car now, so I'm sure my rear end can only take a little more. I would like to upgrade from stock to something I wont have to worry about breaking at the track or even on the street if I'm racin. What is the cheapest but worth while upgraded rear end. Is there anything even at a junkyard that would bolt right up & work well from a diff car/rear end? I dont mean to sound dumb, just lack of knowladge in this department. Any advise would be great Thanks in advance.

I just ordered another set of 410 gears for my 10 bolt because the shop that did my performance work last month, messed everything up including my new 410 gears. So I'm wondering if i can put something together instead of the shop its at now, fixing the rear end & installing new gears, plus labor, if i could try to find a used in good shape 9" whats the common price on them used?

Can someone PM me and maybe give me a little insite on one of the cheaper ways to do this, i unfortunitely dont have an extra $3k layin around. Are they any other cars that were built with a 12 bolt/9" that i could pick up at an easier cost?(that will bolt up to an fbody) Dont mean to sound cheap, I'm way way in over my head on this build & trying to weigh out options. thanks in advance!!

I spoke to summitracing today, they suggested upgrades for my 10 bolt. ( I realize a 9" or 12 bolt would be much better) but, I am on a limited budjet right now, means that the shop will have my rear end apart anyways, i am hoping they would not charge me to put different things back on. Detroit True Track- $375.95 & Heavy Gurdel Diff Cover- $149.99. Would these two or even one be worth my time to strengthen it up, keep in mind, im only looking to be able to safely handle tops 450whp.

The least expensive way to get into a new 9 inch is to buy this Moser housing and axle package, then use a oem Ford center section. http://www.eppautomotiveperformance....html?item=1116 If you used a nodular iron Ford center section, you should be good to go at your power level. Bob

Got the car back tonight, I feel the gears were done correctly, but im still dissapointed in everything else, they put a tune for the torquer2 cam in, but i can smell gas, the throttle is stick open longer than usual in between shifts and my oil gauge is reading lower, somewhere around 40
