what size rear end is in a 1989 camaro? 7.5"? or 7.625"?

Default what size rear end is in a 1989 camaro? 7.5"? or 7.625"?

my buddy has a 89 camaro i roc z with 305 engine...what size is the rear diff? 7.5" or 7.625"? also he has 2.73 gears stock im pretty sure so that would be a 2 series carrier right?

7.625,
yes that is a 2 series carrier.

unless its a BW 9-bolt... then its 7.75"

but i'm pretty sure those only came in a 3.27 ratio, and i think only 350TPI cars got them.

Lb9 cars had them also especially the 5-speed cars they had 3.45 gears

90-92 were all 10-bolts TPIs got the 7- 5/8 (28spline)and the 6cyl got the 7.5(26-spline)

that aussi 9-bolt was a tuff rear i launched 5500 rpm quite often with mine
2.77, 3.27 and 3.45 gears were it for a long time,thankfully we had TONS of TPI TQ to not really need more gear back then.
