3.25s or 3.50s for DD?
My car has the stock 2.73s right now and I'm also thinking of getting a fab 9" so I could get some stickier tires out back, right now the car is my daily driver so I do enjoy the 1850rpm @ 70mph on the highway but the gears are loooong.
I'm leaning towards the 3.25s since I would be at about 2200rpm @ 70mph and 3.50's would be nearly 2400rpm which seems a tad high.I don't know anybody with a camaro without 2.73s to see which I would like better so I had to use gran turismo 5
I set the gearing and hp the same as my A4 and did some 2nd gear 40-90mph pulls. Results of 3 run avg:
2.73s-4.92sec
3.23s-4.31sec
3.50s-4.22sec
I want gas milage and drivability plus I think my borlamouth would be quite annoying at a constant 2,400-2,500rpm and I don't think the increase over 3.25s is worth it. It would be nice to know some real world results at the track instead of a video game.

I keep looking through hours and hours of previous threads about swapping from 2.73s to 3.23s and ET gains. A lot of people don't recommend 2.73s to 3.23s but I don't see anybody that actually did it. It seems 3.73s are slightly too high and hard to launch just as in the game, some even went back to their 2.73s/3.23s so 3.50s would be the best mix between launching, times, and mpg?
I figure the passes would be like this in identical conditions,
2.73s to 3.23s 0.15 sec
2.73s to 3.42s 0.25 sec
2.73s to 3.73s 0.35 sec
2.73s to 3.90s 0.35 sec
Just trying to be 100% sure 3.23s can't net a couple tenths in the quarter before I make the biggest single investment into my car for a 9" and then don't gain anything...
