Where do you get gears installed? How high are the rpm's at 70 mph with 3.73 gears? What kind of gains do you see in the 1/4 mile? Do gears make if faster everywher but top end?

1. A mechanic (don't know the area ur at)
2. A4 or M6?
3. a few tenths at most(depending on what you already have)
4. They don't add power, they just let you use more of the top end you already have by getting the engine there quicker.

I picked up .2 in the 1/8th from ONLY changing gears from 3:23's to 3:73's the gain was noticable.
I have my radiator out at the second but I believe at 70 its at 2500 RPM and 2700 at 80. I don't pay a lot of attention and I changed gears 6 months ago so I kinda forgot the exact numbers on RPM's but I can check tomorrow or monday if you really want to know specifically.
Get them put in at a rear end shop is where you get them done.
What gears are you going from? What trans?
BTW I have an auto so those results are with an auto, if you have a stick car go with 4:10's. Actually if you have a stick car dont put a penny into the 10 bolt save it for a real rear end.
