Detroit "Soft" Locker questions

Detroit "Soft" Locker questions
I've been doing some looking around, and trying to decide what exactly my posi unit is. It has all the visual appearances of a Detroit, but next to none of the "bad stuff" that people always talk about. I've read about the "soft locker" version, which is supposed to have a lot nicer manners. I think this is what i have.
I bought the rear used, and had no idea what posi it had (was told mini spool). I'm going to be changing gears to 4.30's, as I just swapped the car to a 6 speed.
I bought a spool for it, but would really like to stick with just a posi if at all possible (98% street car).
SO, Does anyone run this fabled "soft" detroit locker? And, if so, how much abuse will it take?

Well don't get me wrong, it WILL see 6000+ launches on slicks. Just because I don't track it much doesn't mean it doesn't get driven! haha. I've ridden in locker m6 cars, and yes they were terrible. However, I've driven 600+ miles with mine, as an m6 , with the locker, and it was fine. none of the grinding through corners or jerky when you hit the throttle.

Well I did a little deeper searching, and I found this thread
https://ls1tech.com/forums/gears-axl...ft-locker.html
It has some good info about soft lockers. Judging by how mine drove, and the fact that it's a 31 spline, I'm sure it is one.
I'll keep you posted on how it holds up to 6K+ launches on slicks!
