Perhaps because 25 inch tires with 4.10s make a 4.36 with 26.6 inch tires.

yea a 4.10 gear with stock height 25.66 tires is almost identical to having 26.6 tire with 4.30 gears

Nice cam & thats a little bigger than the 228 I am running. What kind of hp did you make?
So did you go with a 9 inch because your 10 bolt broke or was it making noise?

10 bolt gears were great and still r and had 130k miles on them and didnt whine. I had a problem with the carrier bolts backing out and breaking off. 1st time was 2 factory bolts. so i pulled out and but new bolts with red loctite and lock washers, 3000 miles later 1 of the other 2 factory bolts cam out and broke off. So this time i replaced both of them the same way as other two. So now all 4 are grade 8 bolts with red loctite and lock washers. Well one of them came loose and broke off. Well every other time b4 i got lucky and it never hurt any of the gears. Well this time it took some teeth off the spider gears. I was on a road trip at the time so i just took the extra metal out of the rear and tac welded all the bolts and drove 450 miles home and ordered a 9" from quick performance.

That makes sense. I never had bolt breakages like that on mine. You got into a 9 at a good price, had a few minor issues but sounds like it was worth it. Never heard of qp before you posted up or I might have went that route also. My MWC 9 should be(I'm hoping) on the way any day but I doubt I will get to run it this year its starting to get wintery here already.

I'm gonna go w 4.10 and do the 295 45 17 from mt. My motor isn't goin much past 6500 rpms so ill need more gear. I'd run 4.88s if it would make me faster but its all about setting your car up.. Everyones car and goals are different.
