3:73's with Stall Will I notice any real difference? |
It will tighten up your converter substantially, make accelleration a lot faster at any RPM, you may have traction problems, and your shift points/MPH will be totally whacked unless programming is changed. ...and no, I'm not talking about correcting the speedo which will need to be done as well, I'm talking specifically about A4 shift points being set by MPH/RPM. Unless it's changed along with the speedo you will be shifting into 4th gear OD at about 35mph. Ask me how I know. Bad30th |
Thanks for all the information. I may do the upgrade during the summer, sounds like it would be awesome! |
"Bad30th" is right on the money, I just had a Y3000, 2.0 STR installed in my 2001 Z28, that already had 3.73's in it, and until I had the car dyno tuned, with the shift points changed (MPH & RPM) my vehicle would not run correctly, I had alot of idle hunting, non lockup on freeway (my personal favorite), and constant shifting in and out of gear on level road. The dyno tune corrected all the problems I had, the vehicle has never run better. SteveC :) |
Thanks guys! |
