Sorry to bring up an old post but I didn't see what the mileage gains were.my 3.42 m6 is at 1900 rpms at 85...where would the 3.73s be at 85. And I usually do roll racing (stock 10 bolt) like 1st gear 25 mph is around 3k rpms...what mph would you be in at 3000

Use the gear calculator on f-body.org, you can enter any parameters you want and get rpm vs mph in 100 rpm increments.

That gear calculator is pretty accurate, but remember the stock tach can be off a bit...especially at the higher rpms. I know mine is like 300-400 off around 6500 rpm

It seems around 5500 or so they start losing accuracy. Mine literally stops around 6400 RPM (I have taken it to 7 a few times and it has never made it past 6500, lol), and my other buddy literally counts to 2 after his reads 7k (so he actually shifts at 7200). They are all over the place, haha.

3.73 or 3.90 best for bolt-on cars. 4.10 is to much unless you runnin a taller than stock tire.

My best time with the 3.42 on my corvette was 13.2@106 MPH. I put in the 4.10 and my new best time was 12.7@109 MPH. I gained 3 MPH on the strip . It was the best mod i ever had. On the street it felt faster too.

I just bought a stock Trans Am LT1, and my first mod is the 4.10. Even before a catback, that is how much i believed in them
