Question Stock sway bar is rubbing against my 12 bolt rearend cover.

How many of you with Strange 12 bolts with the Alum. cover have had this problem. The stock sway bar is rubbing against the bottom of the cover and I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to remove the rear sway bar. Or is there are any other suggestions as to what could solve the problem.

Loosen the sway bar clamps and rotate them (bottom on the clamp towards the rear of the car) so the bar sits further back, may have to loosen up the endlinks to do it. Wont take much to get it to clear. You may have the shim the bar down a little also but you should be able to get enough clearance by just rotating the clamps a little..

I have the standard chrome cover. My Strange goes in Saturday. Should I be looking out for this as well?

Unlike the Moser, the Strange should have locating tabs welded to the axle just like the stock axle. These tabs fit a groove in the stock swaybar clamps and will prevent them from rotating too much. I had no interference with my 21mm rear bar and either the LPW or TA covers. I suppose different swaybars may be closer, however, so I would agree with the above and look at making some spacers/shims between the swaybar bushing and the clamp. This should help move the bar away from the axle more. This is assuming, of course, that you can't get enough rotation in the clamps to allow clearance.

Standard Chrome Strange cover should clear. The extra ribbing on the LPW cover causes the clearence issues.

My LPW hit. I made spacers using bar stock bought at Lowes. Easy to make and works great.

my moser and sway bar fit great. not even close to hitting. did yall use the bracket for the 12 bolt or did you try to reuse the stock mounts?

Get some BMR sway bar mounts. They make them for the stock bars. Just check to see if its 19 or 21mm. I got the poly end links and bushings too.

when i bought my 12-bolt 3 years ago there was no such thing on the market. kind of had to figure out a way to get it to work . that is very nice now that they offer something to fix this problem without having to fab up brackets. just throwing this out as a free option for the thrifty bunch
