Cutting off lca relocation brackets on 9 inch

I ordered my moser 9 inch back in the day before they offered the relocation brackets they have now, I have a set of relocation brackets that were welded on afterwards but they are cheap and flimsy , I ordered a set of moser relocation brackets (same ones they send as an option already welded to the housing) anyways has anyone ever cut off the older style brackets for any reason, doesn't look like it will be too hard, probably use a cutoff wheel. Any suggestions ?

I used a cutting wheel when I built that 8.8 Sammy. If you need a hand just let me know.

A cut-off wheel or an acetylene torch will work. Bob

I've plasma cut cut right above the weld, so you can use the tube as a guild and zip them off. Then flap wheel the 1/8 off, right before you get to grinding tube, you see the line (depth) of were the old bracket was. 36-60 grit flap wheel really grinds thu the old weld fast.
