Default Which Gears 3.90s or 4.30s

I am thinking about getting a 9" & was wondering which gears you would suggest for my Camaro. 3.90's or 4.30's Its a M6, mods are in my sig & would be adding a cam & possibly spray in the future & I daily drive my car. Just wanted to hear peoples opinions.

3.90s so when u get cam fever plus the planned on nitrous kit above u won't run out of gear. 3.90 is a pretty good dd gear

I agree, if you're going to spray there is a good chance you could run out of gear with 4.30 gears. This is especially true if you run a 26" tall rear tire. Bob

So I shouldn't have any problems with just swapping out my 10 bolt for the Moser 9" Detroit tru trac 31 spline with the control arm bracket locations welded on right?

Correct, but I would stay away from the Truetrac. The parent company of Truetrac got bought out around five years ago, and after that, a lot of people have had problems with them holding up. Bob

Run the 430 so you can run a 27 or 28in tire and hook better

Thanks for the info. Yea the guy I'm buying the 9" told me the diff in it makes a clunking noise like a Detroit locker does on right hand turns since the day he bought it new. Guess he looked into it and its a common issue Detroit tru tracs have but never broke on him. Just the rear end locking and unlocking when you go straight or turn?

Agreed. I got 4.10's myself. If I ever go to a 9in. it will have 4.30's. Unless you drive your car 80+mph for long distances the 4.30's would be perfect. Also if you get an agressive clutch in the future the 4.30's will improve drivability alot.
