Default Rear end noise goes from ok to terrible in 1 day w/ vid

On my drive to work noticed an annoying noise coming from the rear, thought it had to do with my exhaust. Only notice it when I give it any throttle. As the day went on and got back in the car the noise got louder and louder until when I finally limped it home its almost a clunking noise now. Havent done any burnouts and any trips to the drap strip either. Do I need a new rear or can it be only the axles need replacing?

id probably start looking for a new rear.. you could pull the cover off and see how things look in there though and see how bad it is.. if it looks fine then pull the axles and checkout the bearings...

If you havent been hard on it and with the almost clunking sound you mention, I would almost think its the torsen diff, I would pull the cover and check it all out

Interesting, dont want to jack your thread but no sense in making a new one for same issue. im having the same issue. maybe a lil different. when im rolling and im not on the gas the sound is really bad but if i press the pedal a lil it brings the noise down but still there. so lets say im in 5th gear going 60mph and im not on the gas i hear it pretty loud. i guess im just wondering if thats a typical thing that happends when the rear is done . or could it be something else. thanks

So that is typical when the rear is done? Just want to make sure it’s the rear. Don’t want to pay all that cash and find out it was something else. Thanks
