depends on what future mods you wana do?.any plans of power adder nitrous/turbo/supercharger?if you want to stay na with nitrous id do 410 or 430 gears but not with a stock 10 bolt it will break.also depends on if your a4 or m6 also?

m6 with a 10 bolt and a lot of nitrous is soon to be added to the car with a big inch lsx 427 cui i have had serious nitrous cars before with a low gear like 4.10 all the way to 4.88s on my cobra but i haveheard that a change in axle ratio makes the crs ****** animals my buddy just put 4.10s in is a4 camaro (havent ridden in it yet and he said a world of difference4 also said his fuel ecomoy did not really suffer)
just trying to see what the f bod community thinks and thanks

for a i am ex cobra man but never again after i see how much cheaper it is
to build a lsx car

I have 4.56s and love them. But 10bolt+ 427 lsx with nitrous= no 10 bolt. You put 4.56 in a 10bolt with stock power you will break it in no time if you beat on it. I have a Midwest chassis fab 9 inch with 4.56 and use a 28inch tire in the rear. It makes it get in the rpms quick and snappy. But if you are going with a big motor and spray you wont needed that much gear.

Unless you track it or plan on running a 28 inch tire there is no reason to run higher than a 4.10/4.11 or 4.30. There are several calculators to help your decision.

4.10s are about the biggest i would go. i have them in my car and im barely making it through the traps in 4th gear. 26" tall tire, 6700 rpm shifting. when i have my mwc 9 built, its getting 3.90s. got a buddy with 4.10s in his auto, its even worse. he has to shift into overdrive to go though the traps.
