Question about 3.73's!
 

So I just purchased my 5th Fbody but this is the first one ive owned that doesnt have stock gearing.
My question is. This rear end is wayyy noisy.. I have heard that aftermarket gears are noisy anyway but this seems excessive.. its kind of a growling noise. not a whine. I thought maybe a bad wheel bearing but the gears were only done 6 months ago..

What do you guys think and what should i check for?

pop the cover off and look at the gears. if its growling that leads me to think pinion problems. if everything checks out in there look at the wheel bearings. does the noise come or go with accel or decel? if it is present with all rpm, speeds, and accel and decel i would think wheel bearings.

Does it have oil?

I havent had a chance to pop the cover yet.. The sound is present at all rpm's and the pitch of the sound goes up as speed as increased. I was hoping it was wheel bearings. Im changing all the fluids this weekend.. Ive never replaced a wheel bearing in an fbody but ive heard its fairly easy
