1999 camaro SS rear end makes a grinding noise during decelleration
my 1999 camaro SS 's rear end, while decellerating, makes a sort of grinding noise. as far as we can tell it almost only happens when i get off the gas or i've hit the brakes, and its especially bad when i'm braking harder than normal and i'm under about 25mph.
we don't think its the brakes, because it happens when i'm just coasting as well.
we changed the diff fluid and there wasn't much metal in there.
the rear end doesn't make any noise while doing low speed tight turns in a parking lot, its dead silent. the gears don't seem to whine either.
what would make the noise while decellerating? car has 43k miles and has the non-clutch rear end from SLP (didn't see any springs when we had the diff cover off)
