Default 2000 a4 z-28

I got one and i have the following mods....

ftra cai, slp lid, slp lm, slp bellow.

Wondering if i should possibly look into changing the gear ratio...I dont want a torq converter because i dont want to sabotage throttle response and daily streetability for better track ETs.

My future planned mods are a 150 wet NX kit, and flowtech/pacesetter headers, and not sure if i want a flowtech/pacesetter catted or ORY.

If you have 3.23's, keep 'em. If you have 2.73's, ditch 'em for 3.42s. Go 3.73s if you don't care about high rpms on the freeway. Very happy with the results of my 2.73/3.42 swap for everyday driving, and still running a stock converter for now.

I'd guess you have the 2.73s. Swap in the 3.42s or at most 3.73s. I dont think you would be disappointed with either.
Good luck.

On the sticker on the driver door, GU2=2.73s, GU5=3.23s. 3.23s were an option on the A4 Z28 (performance rear axle) and standard on the A4 SS.

What's your RPM's on the highway at 80? I have 2.73's and I'm right at 2k at that speed. If it's higher then 2k then you probably have the 3.23's.
